How we rate casinos and bonuses

Every listing is ordered by what the offer is worth to a player, not what it pays us. This page explains exactly how.

By No Max Win Editorial Team · Updated · ✓ Terms checked against operator T&Cs

Step 1: the licence gate

A casino can only appear on a market's pages if it holds that market's licence. For the UK, we confirm the operator and licence number on the Gambling Commission public register and show the number on every listing. Our site is built so that an operator without the licence cannot be linked from that market's pages at all.

Step 2: the four caps

We read the offer terms and the general terms in full and record:

  1. Bonus max cashout or max conversion.
  2. Free-spin winnings cap.
  3. Site-wide payout limits (per round, per day, per month).
  4. The max bet rule while the bonus is active.

An offer only appears on a "no max win" list if items 1 and 2 are absent. Where the terms neither state a cap nor say "uncapped", we label it "No cap stated" rather than guess.

Step 3: the No Max Win score

Every offer gets a score out of 10, calculated from its terms alone. Anyone can reproduce it from the facts on the review page.

FactorMaxHow it is scored
Max win4.0Operator states winnings are uncapped: 4.0 · no cap found in the published terms: 2.5 · a cap applies: 1.0
Value per £ staked2.0Spin value ÷ qualifying deposit or stake. 1 or more: 2.0 · 0.5 or more: 1.5 · below: 1.0
Simplicity1.5One step, no code: 1.5 · up to two steps or a code: 1.0 · three or more steps: 0.5
Time to use1.07 days or more: 1.0 · 3 days or more, or not stated: 0.75 · under 3 days: 0.5
Terms evidence1.5Read on the operator's own page: 1.5 · cross-checked across secondary sources: 1.0

Lists are ordered by this score. Commission is not an input, and operators cannot pay to change it. The source code of the formula is the score() function in our site, unchanged from what is described here.

Review types

  • Desk review: built from the operator's published terms, the Gambling Commission register and public enforcement records. Every review currently on the site is a desk review, and says so.
  • Hands-on review: adds a real account, a deposit, use of the offer and a timed withdrawal. We label these separately when they are published.

Step 4: re-checking

Terms change without notice. We record a snapshot of every operator's bonus terms page and compare it automatically each week; any change triggers a manual re-read. The "Checked" date on each listing is the last time a person read the terms in full.

How we make money

We are paid by some operators when a reader registers or plays through our links. That is how the site stays free. It does not change which operators are eligible or how they are ordered. Full details: affiliate disclosure.
